Uzbekistan, Pakistan join international ski mountaineering federation

Mondovi, Italy, March 16, 2025: The International Ski Mountaineering Federation has announced the addition of Uzbekistan and Pakistan as its newest national members. 

 

Their inclusion, alongside Georgia, Lebanon, Mongolia and Qatar, marks another significant step in the ongoing global expansion of ski mountaineering.

 

With these latest memberships, ISMF now represents 55 national members worldwide, reinforcing the federation’s commitment to developing and promoting the sport in diverse regions. The growing number of national federations highlights ski mountaineering’s increasing appeal and the shared enthusiasm for its competitive and recreational aspects.

 

This expansion not only strengthens ISMF’s global presence but also provides more athletes with the opportunity to compete on the international stage, fostering talent development and further professionalizing the sport. The federation remains dedicated to supporting its members and working closely with emerging nations to establish a solid foundation for ski mountaineering in new territories.
