Amman, Jordan, March 11, 2025: HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee, participated in a Ramadan Iftar banquet hosted by the JOC in partnership with Generations for Peace and Jordan Motorsport on Monday, March 10.
JOC Secretary General Rana Al-Saeed in her welcome speech thanked Prince Faisal for his vision in directing the sports movement and praised the development of sports in the Kingdom.
Al-Saeed also reviewed the progress made in 2024, ticking off notable achievements like hosting the General Assembly of the Union of Arab Olympic Committees in Amman and being awarded the Arab Games in 2035, in addition to accomplishments at the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.
The JOC Secretary General also wished national sports federations success in the future, and the continued efforts to support athletes and teams in achieving results.
At the end of the ceremony, Prince Faisal honoured a number of pioneers of the Jordanian sports movement, including Jacqueline Al-Daqam, a former national table tennis player and the first Jordanian woman to qualify for the Olympic Games, and Ibrahim Al-Jaafari, a former national basketball player.
