Kazakhstan NOC Secretary General ‘honoured’ with Asian Mind Sports Association role

Almaty, Kazakhstan, March 2, 2025: The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alimzhan Akayev, has spoken of his pride in being elected Vice President (Central Asia) of the newly established Asian Mind Sports Association.

 

The mind sports association was founded in Bangkok on February 25 and will have five regional vice presidents under the President, Gordon Tang. A total of 29 National Olympic Committees attended the inauguration meeting in the Thai capital.

 

Posting on social media, Akayev said: “Honoured to be appointed as Vice President for Central Asia in the newly established Asian Mind Sports Association - an exciting new initiative by the Olympic Council of Asia. 

 

“The first Asian Mind Sports Games are planned for 2027, marking a significant step in promoting strategic and intellectual sports across the continent. Grateful for the trust from my neighbouring NOCs and the OCA.”

 

Akayev said he was looking forward to working alongside the President, Gordon Tang, to develop the movement.
