Manama, Bahrain, February 25, 2025: His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, chaired the second meeting for the 3rd Asian Youth Games (Bahrain 2025), which will be held from October 22 to 31, 2025.
At the outset of the meeting, HH Shaikh Khalid welcomed the esteemed members and then reviewed the plans of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture as well as the National Communication Centre, in addition to the distribution mechanism of facilities across all sports, the competition schedule and all preparations and plans the executive committee intends to implement in the upcoming period.
His Highness stressed the importance of working at a rapid pace to fulfill all requirements for hosting the event, which will be held for the first time in the Kingdom of Bahrain in cooperation and coordination with the Olympic Council of Asia.
He also underscored the significance of cooperation and integration between all ministries, government agencies and the private sector with the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the executive committee to ensure that all organisational matters proceed optimally.
Furthermore, His Highness stressed the importance of building on the successes that the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved in hosting various major sports events in the past, the latest of which was the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024, and to benefit from the positives while enhancing them and addressing any negatives to provide a suitable environment for all athletes in Asia and project a positive image of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Meanwhile, His Highness Shaikh Khalid emphasised the importance of preparing the facilities, stadiums and sports halls, urging prompt completion of any outstanding issues, especially with only a few months remaining before the event.
He expressed confidence in the youth of Bahrain, who have consistently demonstrated their capability to meet challenges and responsibilities.
Besides, His Highness conveyed his belief in everyone's ability to complete all tasks within the designated timelines to ensure the event's success, wishing all participants the best of luck and success.
The 3rd AYG Bahrain 2025 will feature 21 sports.
