Tashkent, Uzbekistan, February 25, 2025: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan has congratulated legendary gymnast Oksana Chusovitina for winning a bronze medal at the Cottbus World Cup event in Germany last weekend.
Artistic gymnast Chusovitina, who turns 50 this year, finished a half-tenth behind gold medallist Slovenia’s Teja Belak to take the vault bronze medal. She finished with an average score of 13.249. Belak won the gold with 13.299 while Tjasa Kysselef, another Slovenian, won the silver with 13.266.
“Well done Oksana,” the Uzbekistan NOC posted on social media.
The eight-time Olympian was competing in her first event since injury kept her out of the 2024 Asian Championships, the final Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier.
The latest podium finish was Chusovitina’s 16h vault medal in 21 appearances at the Cottbus World Cup.
