OCA VP Dr. Thani Al Kuwari opens AI Technology, E-sports Seminar in Kuwait

Kuwait City, Kuwait, February 22, 2025: Dr. Thani Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia, opened the OCA Seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology and E-Sports at the OCA HQ on Saturday, February 22.

Dr. Thani, OCA Vice President for West Asia, highlighted the OCA’s commitment to embracing technological advancements that would further boost and benefit sport throughout the continent.

“As we stand at the intersection of innovation and sport, it is truly inspiring to witness the collaboration of brilliant minds coming together to explore how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping the world of sports and e-sports,” Dr. Thani said in his welcome address.

“Technology has always played a significant role in the evolution of sports, but AI has introduced a new frontier of possibilities – enhancing athlete performance, optimizing training methods and transforming how competitions are conducted and experienced.

“E-sports, in particular, has emerged as a global phenomenon, blending technology with traditional sporting values and opening doors to a new era of digital competition.

“The Olympic Council of Asia remains committed to embracing technological advancements that foster growth, inclusivity and excellence in sports.

“This seminar is an important step in that direction, bringing together experts, industry leaders who will share insights, innovations and challenges in AI and e-sports.”

Dr. Thani thanked all the presenters, partners and participants and said the seminar would be a “valuable platform for learning and collaboration.”
