Oman to host 3rd GCC Beach Games in April

Muscat, Oman, February 20, 2025: The third edition of the GCC Beach Games in Muscat will officially open on April 5, 2025.

 

A total of six countries from the Gulf Cooperation Council will take part in "Muscat 2025" from April 5-11. The countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Oman.

 

Athletes will compete in eight sports: beach football, beach volleyball, beach handball, open water swimming, sailing, tent pegging, beach athletics and paragliding.

 

Taha bin Sulaiman Al Kishry, Secretary General of the Oman Olympic Committee, said: “Oman’s hosting of this sporting event, which unites GCC athletes, reaffirms its leading position in organising major sporting events and reinforces its role as a distinguished hub for beach sports.

 

“This hosting also reflects Oman’s commitment to strengthening sports cooperation among GCC countries and supporting efforts to develop beach sports to the highest international standards,” Al Kishry added.
