POC President gives cash awards to men’s curling team

Manila, Philippines, February 19, 2025: The President of the Philippine Olympic Committee, Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, has awarded cash prizes to the history-making men’s curling team at the 9thAsian Winter Games in Harbin, China.

 

The Philippines produced one of the headlines of the AWG by winning the gold medal on the last day of the Games, defeating Korea 5-3. 

 

The team was comprised of Marc Pfister (fourth/skip), Christian Haller (third, vice skip), Enrico Pfister (second) and Alan Frei (lead). 

 

Benjo Delarmente was the alternate and Jessica Pfister the coach.

 

In a social media post on Wednesday, February 19, the POC President said: “Honoring our history-making gold medalists in men’s curling at the Asian Winter Games! 

 

“As POC - Philippine Olympic Committee - Olympic.PH President, I am proud to award cash incentives to our team, a small token of appreciation for their dedication, sacrifice, and the honor they’ve brought to our country. 

 

“The road ahead may not be perfect, but we remain committed to the journey. With your continued prayers and support, we push forward toward to Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics!”
