Nagoya, Japan, February 18, 2025: The organising committee of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 announced a list of official ambassadors to promote the next Asiad in Japan on Tuesday, February 18.
The ambassadors include Nagoya-born actress, singer and model Emi Takei, 31, and the veteran actor and musician from Toyohashi in Aichi Prefecture, Ken Matsudaira, 71.
The other Asian Games Ambassadors named on Tuesday were Japanese boy band INI and the Japanese comedian, “tarento” and actress, Kayoko Okubo, 53, who is a member of the comedy duo Oasiz. Okubo was born in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture.
“Together we will rock the competition and make the Asian Games more exciting,” organising committee AINAGOC said in their announcement.
A commissioning ceremony will be held on Wednesday, February 26 at the Aichi Prefectural Government Office in Nagoya, starting at 9am.
The ceremony will include a letter of appointment as Asian Games Ambassador, a short speech from each of the ambassadors present expressing their enthusiasm for the Asian Games, and an informal discussion. The 15-minute ceremony will not be open to the public.
The main activities of the official ambassadors will be to appear at official events organised by AINAGOC and to promote the Asian Games and Asian Para Games through official social media, newsletters and other platforms.
The 20th Asian Games will run from September 19 to October 4, 2026, and will be followed by the 5th Asian Para Games from October 18-24.
