Harbin, China, February 10, 2025: China and Korea have pulled away from the field after the first weekend of action at the 9th Asian Winter Games Harbin 2025.
The host nation and fellow winter sports power Korea won 26 of the 30 gold medals on offer over the first two days of medal competition following the opening ceremony on Friday, February 7.
China stand at the top of the medal rankings with 15 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze medals for a total of 44 medals.
Korea are second with 11 gold medals, nine silver and seven bronze for 27 total medals, while Japan are third with three gold, two silver and six bronze and 11 total medals.
Central Asian power Kazakhstan are in fourth place with one gold, four silver and two bronze, and Chinese Taipei are fifth with one bronze.
There will be a total of 64 events in 11 disciplines of six sports during the February 7-14 Asian Winter Games, with one of the most popular sports on the programme, figure skating, still to come.
