Harbin, China, February 4, 2025: The Athletes Department of the Olympic Council of Asia has released details of the upcoming election to select a winter sports athlete representative for the OCA Athletes Committee.
During the Chefs de Mission meeting at the Victories Hotel in Harbin on Tuesday, February 4, the OCA Athletes Department informed the delegation heads and National Olympic Committee representatives of the key election information.
Voting will take place from February 8 to February 13, with polling stations at all athlete accommodation hotels in Harbin and Yabuli. The eligibility criteria for voters were also highlighted.
Mr. Jamyang Namgyal, Manager of the OCA Athletes Department, urged CDMs and NOC representatives to encourage their delegations to participate.
“We urge you to motivate your eligible athletes to vote. Their participation is essential, as the elected representative will bring the voice of winter sports athletes in OCA’s decision-making processes through the Athletes Committee,” Mr. Namgyal emphasised.
There are six candidates nominated by their respective NOCs for the one place available on the OCA Athletes Committee for a winter sports representative. The election results will be announced on February 14 at 10:00am.
The 9th Asian Winter Games will run from February 7-14 with a record number of athletes, 1,275, from a record number of NOCs, 34.
