Dubai, United Arab Emirates, February 2, 2025: The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee has nominated Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the position of President of the NOC.
In a post on its Facebook page last Tuesday January 28, the UAE NOC stated: “The Election Committee of the National Olympic Committee announces the nomination of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for the position of President of the National Olympic Committee.”
The previous incumbent, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has been NOC President for the last 16 years.
The UAE NOC paid fulsome tribute to Sheikh Ahmed, labelling his tenure as a “fruitful’ presidency.
Senior NOC officials all posted tributes on Facebook praising Sheikh Ahmed for his efforts. They said: “His tangible efforts and his clear footprints have raised the Olympic Movement in the UAE and solidified its presence on the global sports map.”
Sheikh Mansoor also currently holds the position of Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
