Lausanne, Switzerland, January 30, 2025: The President of the Mongolia National Olympic Committee, Battushig Batbold, met with the IOC President, Thomas Bach, at Olympic House in Lausanne on Wednesday, January 29.
Battushig, an IOC Member, praised the IOC President for steering the Olympic Movement through the Covid-19 crisis and also expressed interest in Mongolia hosting IOC events in the future.
“Always an honor to see IOC President Thomas Bach,” Battushig posted on his Facebook account.
“Had a great conversation about Mongolia being active in the sports community and our interest to host events such as the IOC Session and Youth Olympic Games in the future.
“President Bach has been IOC President since 2013, and we have witnessed his tremendous leadership as he was able to steer the Olympic Movement during the difficult COVID-19 in Tokyo 2020 and Beijing 2022 as well as the great success of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
“Tomorrow (Thursday, January 30), we have the IOC Session in Lausanne to listen to the presentations of the seven candidates for the next IOC President where the elections will be held in March in Greece.”
