Nagoya, Japan, January 29, 2025: An OCA delegation paid a two-day visit to Nagoya, Japan to assess preparations for the 20th Asian Games in 2026 and meet with local organisers.
The OCA delegation consisted of Mr. Tsunekazu Takeda, Vice President, OCA; Mr. Mohd Tayyab Ikram, Vice Chair, OCA Coordination Committee; Mrs. Mikako Kotani, OCA Executive Board Member; and Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Director General, OCA.
The visit took place on January 28-29 and the OCA team met with each of the AINAGOC Functional Departments one by one and ascertained the progress made since the last Coordination Committee meeting.
They also visited the Garden Pier to assess the conditions and where the container houses will be located.
Organising committee AINAGOC is planning to accommodate 6,000 athletes and officials in the Asian Games Plaza, with 4,000 on a cruise ship docked at Kinjo Pier and another 2,000 in the temporary container homes at Garden Pier.
The OCA’s follow-up team also provided valuable advice to AINAGOC for the smooth conduct of the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya, which will run from September 19 to October 4, 2026.
