Seoul, Korea, January 29, 2025: Korea’s all-conquering archers at the Olympic Games in Paris last summer collected two major honours in the World Archery Awards for 2024.
Kim Woo-jin was named male recurve archer of the year, and Lim Si-hyeon was voted female recurve archer of the year.
Kim, 32, won the men’s individual, men’s team and mixed team gold medals at Paris 2024 to take his gold medal tally in the Olympic Games to five.
Lim, 21, achieved the same feat in the women’s competitions, winning individual and team gold and mixed team gold with Kim.
She also set the world and Olympic records in the preliminary round of the women's individual event, scoring 694 out of a maximum of 720, thereby surpassing fellow South Korean Kang Chae-young's 692 and An San's 680, respectively.
Lim, who won a hat-trick of gold medals at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, was winning the World Archery award for a second time and Kim for the third time.
The World Archery awards were decided by a combination of public, executive and media vote.
