Tehran, Iran, January 27, 2025: Iran’s Ministry of Sports and Youth has prepared a blueprint for the participation of national athletes at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The Ministry of Sports held a meeting with Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa, President of the National Olympic Committee of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and other members of the NOC Executive Board on Saturday, January 25, to finalise the plan before it is submitted to the Cabinet.

The draft titled "Olympic Executive Plan" will be submitted to the government by the Ministry of Sports and falls in line with government policies for a successful participation at the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The blueprint looks at qualification for the Olympics, the prospect of winning medals, training camps and international competition for athletes, both male and female, in the build-up to Los Angeles.

Most importantly, the plan has also given an estimate of the budget and foreign exchange that will be needed.

This is the first time that the Ministry of Sports and Youth has compiled a four-year plan with the aim of promoting Iranian sports with the aim of participating in the Olympic Games.

Iran was ranked 21st in the overall medal standings at the Paris 2024 Olympics winning a total of 12 medals, including three golds.
