Jerusalem, Palestine, January 24, 2025: The President of Palestine Olympic Committee, Major General Jibril Rajoub, has stressed the need to enhance international cooperation with other sports and youth organisations.
Addressing a meeting of international relations sports specialists at the Olympic Preparation and Development Centre in the city of Al-Bireh on Thursday, January 23, Gen. Rajoub said it was important to build bridges of communication and strengthen cooperation with regional, continental and international institutions.
The meeting was attended by representatives of four key stakeholders: the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the Palestine Olympic Committee, the Palestine Football Association and the Palestinian Scout Association.
Gen. Rajoub said: “I hope that this session will constitute a real start for building an international relations institution according to concepts, mechanisms and policies that contribute to conveying the national message to the world.”
The POC President stressed that international relations were the key to achieving cooperation and positive communication with the world in order to strengthen the bonds of friendship and exchange of expertise and experience.
Al-Rajoub added that the international relations departments of the youth, sports and scouting system worked as one team and according to a specific vision and objectives. He instructed the four institutions to start the process of evaluating, updating and developing the international relations departments in order to enhance the efficiency of the staff through development workshops and by forming a cohesive policy and strategy.
