Tehran, Iran, March 30, 2020: World Athletics has sent a “get well soon” message to Iran’s four-time Asian Games discus champion Ehsan Hadadi.
The 35-year-old track and field athlete, who won a silver medal at the London 2012 Olympics, has contracted the novel coronavirus.
In a tweet, World Athletics said: “We've received word that Iranian discus thrower @EhsanHadadi has tested positive for Coronavirus. We wish him a full and swift recovery.”
Hadadi announced on March 27 that he had tested positive for COVID-19 in Iran, which is one of the hardest hit countries in the world.
He has won the Asian Games discus title four times in a row: Doha 2006, Guangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014 and Jakarta 2018.
