Oman NOC holds physiotherapy course for sports federations

Muscat, Oman, January 16, 2025: The Oman Olympic Committee concluded a three-day physiotherapy course for national sports federations last week.

 

The course, run by Egyptian Dr. Nasreen Hamada, was organised by the Oman Sports Medicine Committee of the Oman NOC, and was attended by physiotherapists from sports federations as well as healthcare professionals from hospitals.

 

The three-day seminar was aimed to enhance knowledge and practical skills in sports injury management, first aid, diagnosis, and treatment. There was special focus on injuries to the shoulder, knee and ankle joints.

 

Dr. Nasreen Hamada emphasised the importance of the course in building participants’ capabilities and underlined the opportunities to learn about the latest therapeutic techniques for managing sports injuries.

 

This course was part of the Oman Sports Medicine Committee’s efforts to raise the standards of sports medicine, and support and develop competency in physiotherapy. It was also aimed at enhancing the efficiency of professionals in this vital field, so as to improve athletic performance.
