Kuwait City, Kuwait, January 16, 2025: Kuwait will send a record 65-strong delegation to compete in three sports at the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China from February 7-14.
The Kuwait Winter Games Club made this announcement at a press conference on Wednesday, January 15, presided by Honorary President Sheikh Jaber Bander Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Club President Fahid Al-Ajmi.
Sheikh Jaber underlined the significance of the largest Kuwaiti delegation in the history of the Asian Winter Games and extended his gratitude to all supporters of the club.
Club President Fahid highlighted Kuwait’s involvement in the games was only possible through coordination with the Kuwait Olympic Committee.
The athletes will compete in three sports and five disciplines: ice hockey, speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating and curling.
The men’s ice hockey team will be the first in action with their opening match against Kyrgyzstan on February 3, followed by the curling team on February 4. The other events will follow the opening ceremony on February 7.
