POC President says athletes will make Philippines proud in 2025

Manila, Philippines, January 16, 2025: The Philippine Olympic Committee kicked off a busy year focused on major international competitions with an Executive Board meeting. 

 

POC President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino shared their goal of sending a strong team of qualified athletes to achieve top results.

 

“The POC Executive Board is united in our mission to support our athletes and guide them towards success on the international stage. Together, we will strive for excellence and make the Philippines proud,” he said.

 

Joining POC President Tolentino (seated, center) in the meeting were:

Seated (L-R): Board Member Leah Gonzales (fencing), First Vice President Al Panlilio (basketball), IOC Representative Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski, Board Member Leonora Escollante (canoe-kayak).

Standing (L-R): Secretary General Atty. Wharton Chan, Treasurer Dr. Jose Raul Canlas (surfing), Board Member Alvin Aguilar (wrestling), Auditor Donaldo Caringal (volleyball), Board Member Alexander Sulit (judo), Board Member Ferdinand Agustin (jiu-jitsu) and Athletes Commission Representative Jessie Lacuna.

 

The POC calendar for 2025 includes the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China next month; the 3rd Asian Youth Games in Bahrain in October, and the 33rd South East Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand in December.
