Iran NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa thanked guests for attending the ceremony, adding: “The importance of paying attention to prominent individuals in women’s sports should not be limited to the post-revolutionary era.
"All athletes and managers who were influential in the growth and development of women’s sports should also be taken into account.”
Khosravi Vafa continued by appreciating the efforts of the NOC’s Women’s Commission in holding this first ceremony to honour influential women in sports and underlined the participation of the Deputy for Women’s Sports Development in the Ministry of Sports, the Deputy for Women’s Sports of the Municipality and all other organisations involved in the ceremony.
Mahin Farhadizad, Vice President of the NOC, mentioned the goals of holding the ceremony, which were to promote gender equality and increase women’s participation at management levels.
