Manama, Bahrain, January 6, 2025: His Majesty King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain has congratulated the men’s national football team after they clinched the 26th Gulf Cup with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Oman on Saturday, December 4.
His Majesty the King received a telegram citing the wonderful news from His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, who conveyed the joyous news from the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.
The BOC President stated: “This victory reflects the high fighting spirit and determination of the players of the national team, and the great efforts made by the Bahrain Football Federation, which made the people of Bahrain very happy.
“I wish the national team continuous success in raising the country’s flag in regional and international events,” Sheikh Khaled added.
The match, witnessed by nearly 60,000 fans, showcased moments of brilliance, resilience and heartbreak as Bahrain captured their second Gulf Cup crown, their first since 2019.
