Manama, Bahrain, January 1, 2025: HH Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, has praised the outstanding performance of the national football team who reached the final of the 26thArab Gulf Cup by defeating hosts Kuwait 1-0 in the semi-finals on Tuesday, December 31.
“This achievement reflects the great efforts of the players, the high spirits they possess, alongside the efforts of the Bahraini Football Federation to prepare the national team in all aspects. We also value the stand of the Bahraini fans and its role in the national team’s struggle,” Sheikh Khaled said.
Bahrain set up a summit clash with Oman on Saturday, January 4. Oman defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1 in the other semi-final.
Sheikh Khaled expressed his confidence in the ability of the team to continue delivering their fantastic performances in the final against Oman, emphasising the importance of continuing to work with the spirit of one team so as to win the Cup for the second time in Bahrain football history.
