Kuwait City, Kuwait, December 25, 2024: The new edition of the OCA’s official newsletter, Sporting Asia, is now available for download at www.oca.asia.
The 67th edition of the quarterly publication, December 2024, highlights the OCA’s initiatives and activities to promote the Olympic sports movement throughout the continent.
Coverage includes six pages of reports, photos and comments from the OCA Development Programme for Coaches and Referees from Southeast Asia and East Asia in Kuala Lumpur in four sports – archery, badminton, swimming and table tennis.
This six-day camp, from November 25-30, completed the ambitious development programme for the OCA’s five zones, following earlier camps for West Asia in Kuwait and for Central Asia and South Asia in Uzbekistan.
There are also reports from the OCA-Ju-Jitsu Asian Union Development Programme for Coaches and Referees in Abu Dhabi, as well as coverage of the OCA Safeguarding Workshop and OCA Prevention of Manipulation of Competition (PMC) Workshop in Bangkok.
“Inside the OCA” includes reports on the visit of the OCA President, Raja Randhir Singh, to Kuwait and news on the upcoming Gender Equity Seminar in Brunei Darussalam next April and the Athletes Committee election during the Harbin Asian Winter Games in February.
The new edition of Sporting Asia includes all the regular content such as President’s Message, NOC News in Pictures from all 45 National Olympic Committees, Games Update on Harbin 2025 and the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 in Japan, Women in Sport, News in Brief and the OCA Sports Diary.
The obituary pages record the sad passing of Japanese sports leader and OCA stalwart Yuko Arakida, while two pages are devoted to the leaders and members of the OCA Standing Committees.
