Singapore, December 23, 2024: The Singapore National Olympic Council has reported on a very successful Singapore Olympic Academy (SOA) Annual Academic Session 2024.
The event was officially launched by SOA Chairman and IOC Member Mr. Ng Ser Miang and took place at Dunman High School.
The participants came from 11 Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore. The diverse group included Physical Education teachers, sports administrators, coaches and representatives from various National Sports Associations.
The theme of the session was “The Athlete in Society: Empowering Olympic Values through Sports & Physical Education”. Over three days, participants engaged in vibrant discussions on Olympism and Olympic Values, took part in site visits to the Singapore Sports Institute and Sports Museum and had a Q&A session with Singapore Olympians.
The highlights included the insightful presentations and the lively Cultural Night on Day 2, where participants shared and celebrated their unique traditions.
“This session provided an incredible platform to exchange ideas, foster connections and explore the evolving role of athletes in society. Judging by the enthusiastic feedback and the smiles all around, the SOA Annual Academic Session 2024 was a resounding success. We eagerly look forward to welcoming everyone again in 2025,” the SNOC said in a social media post.
The session was held on November 15-17.
