Thimphu, Bhutan, December 22, 2024: The National Order of Merit (Silver Medal) was awarded on December 17, the 117th National Day, to Karma Jigme for his exceptional contributions to Bhutanese football, conservation and entrepreneurship.
This is the second national feather in the cap for Bhutanese sports following last year’s historic moment when the Bhutan Olympic Committee received the nation’s highest honour – the Druk Thuksey awarded by His Majesty the King to HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee.
Karma Jigme was recognised for his visionary leadership of Paro Football Club which has elevated sport to new heights.
The Bhutan Olympic Committee family extended its heartfelt congratulations to Karma Jigme for this well-deserved recognition.
