New Delhi, India, December 19, 2024: The President of the Indian Olympic Association, PT Usha, participated in the launch of the logo and mascot for the 38th National Games to be held in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025.
The IOA President officiated at the ceremony along with the Hon. Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushka Singh Dhami, the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, the Hon. Raksha Khadse, and the Hon. Minister of Sport in Uttarakhand, Rekha Arya.
The ceremony showcased the rich heritage of Uttarakhand, a state in Northern India close to the Himalayas, and highlighted the National Games, now in its 38th edition.
The Games' mascot is "Mauli", inspired by the Monal, the state bird of Uttarakhand, and symbolising the region’s uniqueness and encouraging young athletes to aim high.
The National Games will feature over 10,000 athletes, coaches and officials from across the country, including institutional teams like the Services, competing in 38 sports, including the traditional yoga.
