Bangkok, Thailand, December 4, 2024: The curtain closed on the Asian Esports Games 2024 in Bangkok on December 1, leaving behind unforgettable moments, notable victories and an inspiring celebration of esports talent from across Asia.
Hosted by the Thailand Esports Federation with support from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand and the National Sports Development Fund, the event was sanctioned by the Asian Electronic Sports Federation.
In the overall medal tally, Team Thailand emerged as the leader with two gold medals, closely followed by Indonesia with one gold medal. Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam all won one silver medal.
Thailand’s two gold medals came from Nattawat “TXRO” Namburee in eFootball and in the Arena of Valor event.
The MLBB women’s event marked a historic milestone for esports, featuring participation from 20 countries and regions—the largest representation of women’s national teams in Asia to date.
Teams from Thailand, Timor-Leste, Iran and China made their international debuts. Indonesia won gold, followed by the Philippines with silver and China with bronze, highlighting the growing prominence of women in esports.
Beyond the competitions, the AESF, in collaboration with HealthyGaming, hosted a workshop focused on safeguarding the mental health of athletes, team officials and staff. The workshop was attended by 20 officials and athletes.
Throughout the event, distinguished dignitaries, including AESF Executive Board members Dr. Tran Van Manh, Mr. Azat Myradov and Mr. Lokesh Suji, alongside partners from Konami and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, observed the proceedings.
The victory ceremony honored the medalists with presentations by officials and guests, including Mr. Wutthichai Chaijit from the Sports Authority of Thailand, TESF President Mr. Santi Lothong, AESF Vice President Dr. Tran Van Manh, Mr. Lokesh Suji, AESF Director General Mr. Sebastian Lau, and AESF COO Mr. Steve Kim.
The Asian Esports Games 2024 has set a new benchmark in Asia, celebrating unity, gender equality, diversity, excellence and the limitless potential of esports.
