Sri Lanka NOC’s Niloo Jayatilake elected OCA EB member

Colombo, Sri Lanka, December 1, 2024: Niloo Jayatilake, Chair of the Gender Equity Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, will represent South Asia as an Executive Board member of the Olympic Council of Asia.

Ms. Jayatilake was unanimously approved to this position at the 90th OCA Executive Board meeting held virtually on November 26.

“I am both honoured and humbled to have been elected as an Executive Board member of the Olympic Council of Asia. I am committed to contributing my experience, expertise and passion for advancement of sports and the Olympic movement in Asia,” Ms. Jayatilake told the OCA.

“I understand the importance of the OCA in fostering the values of Olympism, promoting fair competition and ensuring the sustainable development of sports across Asia.

“I am eager to collaborate with fellow board members and work towards strengthening the OCA’s mission of inspiring youth, advancing athletic excellence and fostering unity among the Asian Olympic family,” she added.

Ms. Jayatilake, who was elected the first female Vice President of the Sri Lanka NOC in 2022, has represented the island-nation in golf. She currently serves as a council member on Sri Lanka Golf and is also the Chair of the Junior Golf Development Committee.

She has been Chair of the NOC’s Gender Equity Committee for the past five years, and played a key role in developing Safe Sports policy in Sri Lanka.

Ms. Jayatilake is also CEO and Director of Softlogic Investments, the asset management arm of the Softlogic Group, one of the fastest growing listed conglomerates in Sri Lanka with business interests in health care, retail, ICT, financial services, automobile and leisure.
