Bahrain pumped up to host 2024 IWF World Championships

Manama, Bahrain, November 28, 2024: Brigadier Isa Hassan Al Qattan, Director General of the Capital Governorate Police Directorate, conducted a site visit on Wednesday, November 27, to the venue for the upcoming 2024 IWF World Championships.

 

He was accompanied by Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and Eshaq Ebrahim, President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation.

 

The International Weightlifting Federation Championships, which will be held from December 6-15 in the capital Manama, will feature the world’s top lifters across 20 weight categories – 10 for men and 10 for women.

 

During the site visit, Brigadier Al Qattan assessed the readiness of the venue and confirmed all necessary security and safety measures were in place.

 

China topped the medal standings at the 2023 World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with 20 golds, 10 silvers and three bronze.
