Bahrain and Jordan to host Arab Games in 2031 and 2035 respectively

Amman, Jordan, November 24, 2024: The General Assembly of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees has confirmed Bahrain as host of the 17th Arab Games in 2031 and Jordan as host of the 18th Arab Games in 2035.

 

A total of 22 Arab National Olympic Committees participated in the Executive Board and General Assembly meetings of the UANOC in the Jordanian capital Amman from November 20-22.

 

The meetings were held under the auspices of the UANOC President, HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, who is also the President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.

 

In his opening address, the UANOC President said: “The Union of Arab National Olympic Committees has made great strides towards shaping the future of Arab sports. The latest of these achievements was Arab countries winning 17 different medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.”

 

Prince Abdulaziz also expressed his pride and special appreciation for Palestinian athletes.

 

The three-day gathering of 22 Arab NOCs reviewed several key topics, including a report on the 15thArab Games held in Algeria in 2023 and a report on the 7th Arab Women’s Club Games held in Sharjah, UAE, in February 2024.

 

It awarded the 2031 and 2035 Arab Games to Bahrain and Jordan, respectively. The next Arab Games in 2027 will be held in the Saudi capital Riyadh.

 

The meetings were an important opportunity to exchange visions and ideas, and work to develop strategic plans that support Arab sports in regional and international forums.
