Manama, Bahrain, November 20, 2024: The Bahrain Olympic Committee will launch the "I Am Talented" programme on Friday, November 22, to uncover young sporting talent in the Kingdom.

Organised by the BOC’s Gender Equality Committee with the support of Olympic Solidarity, the "I Am Talented" programme will focus on identifying talented athletes between the ages of 6 and 14 years across seven individual and team sports.

Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, BOC Board Member and Chair of the Gender Equality Committee, extended her heartfelt thanks to HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the BOC, for his pivotal support to this project.

The seven sports in the programme are fencing, sailing, karate, football, volleyball, handball and basketball.

Selected athletes will participate in year-round training programmes, coordinated with sports federations and clubs, to build their physical and technical abilities.

The programme also includes regular evaluations with relevant sports organisations to track athletes’ progress and readiness, aiming to bring the vision of developing Bahrain’s next generation of Olympians to life.
