Dhaka, Bangladesh, November 20, 2024: Newly-elected President of the Bangladesh Olympic Association, Army Chief Waker-Uz-Zaman, visited BOA Headquarters on Sunday, November 17, and chaired the first Executive Committee meeting since taking office last month.
The BOA stated on social media: “Lots of interesting decisions were taken which are going to change the picture of sports in Bangladesh soon.”
General Waker-Uz-Zaman was elected unopposed as BOA President on October 28. It has been custom in Bangladesh since 1981 that the incumbent Army Chief is also the BOA President.
