Astana, Kazakhstan, November 18, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan has concluded a three-day Sports Administrators Course at the Nazarbayev University School of Medicine in Astana.
The seminar was organised under the umbrella of Olympic Solidarity. Aimed at enhancing professional skills, the course was attended by more than 60 participants, including representatives from sports federations, multi-sports organisations, coaches, legal experts and PR specialists.
“The International Olympic Committee supported NOC Kazakhstan’s initiative to run this seminar and endorsed the proposed programme,” said Alimzhan Akayev, NOC Secretary General.
“We aim to strengthen the skills of national sports federation specialists as their expertise plays a crucial role in the development of sports in Kazakhstan. This course addressed key issues and laid the foundation for effective sports management at all levels,” Akayev continued.
He added: “We believe the knowledge gained will help participants improve their work and make a significant contribution to the training of athletes and the development of sports culture in Kazakhstan.”
Aida Taukelova, team leader of Kazakhstan’s short-track speed skating team, said: “This sports administrators course was excellent. Over the past three days I learned a lot. The lecture on social media promotion was particularly helpful, especially for athletes competing on the world stage.”
