Bangkok, Thailand, November 18, 2024: The International Olympic Academy (IOA) and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and National Olympic Academy (NOA) of Thailand are building upon a strengthened partnership to advance Olympic education, the IOA reports.
This synergy follows the success of the “International Elite Sports Personnel Development Programme: Enhancing International Sports Management Skills 2024” held in September in Athens and Olympia.
Tailored for officials from various sports federations, this programme focused on enhancing international sports management expertise and served as a foundation for Thailand’s new educational initiatives with the IOA.
Initiated by Thailand’s IOC Member Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, productive meetings between the IOA delegation, the Thai NOC President and officials from the NOC and NOA explored how to transform this knowledge-sharing experience into projects that further develop Olympic values in Thailand.
The IOA President, Isidoros Kouvelos, said: “This forward-thinking initiative aligns with the IOA’s mission to strengthen NOAs as the basic pillars of Olympism worldwide.”
This collaborative effort highlights both institutions’ shared vision: to inspire, educate and unite through the principles of Olympism.
Building on the success of the recent programme, the IOA and the Thai Olympic and sport institutions are setting the groundwork for impactful projects that promote international cohesion and elevate the role of Olympic Values in Thai society.
