Uzbekistan NOC holds international conference on the fight against doping

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, November 11, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan hosted an international conference on the fight against doping in Tashkent last week.

 

Deputy Minister of Sports Shakhrillo Makhmudov, NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov, Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Uzbekistan Abdushukur Sadikov, Director of the Scientific and Practical Centre of Sports Medicine Kamal Sirojtidinov as well as international and local experts participated in the one-day conference.

 

The conference began with a video message from the President of the World Anti-Doping Agency, Witold Banka, who applauded the work of the authorities in Uzbekistan in the field of anti-doping.

 

Banka, wishing the conference success, emphasised that both sporting authorities and the government of Uzbekistan was involved in anti-doping measures, placing Uzbekistan among the top in the world in the fight against doping.

 

The Deputy Minister of Sports and the Director of the National Anti-Doping Agency also made opening remarks, underlining the anti-doping measures in place.

 

Experts from Korea, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey and Kazakhstan and local speakers made presentations on a number of issues including regulatory measures in the fight against doping, development of national anti-doping rules, improvement of laws and prohibited substances.
