Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 11, 2024: The United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee has extended its congratulations to Qais Al Dhalai, a member of the UAE NOC Board of Directors, who was re-elected for a second term as President of Asia Rugby.
Al Dhalai received overwhelming support from 29 unions at the Annual General Meeting held in Bangkok last Friday, November 8, to lead Asia Rugby for a second consecutive term.
His re-election is a reflection of the confidence and support from member unions who recognise his dedication and vision for the future of rugby in Asia. Under his leadership, Asia Rugby has expanded membership to the regional governing body, increasing participation, engagement and strategic partnerships that have developed rugby’s footprint.
“I am honoured and humbled to have been re-elected as President of Asia Rugby. The journey so far has been inspiring, and I look forward to continuing our work to advance rugby across the continent,” Al Dhalai said.
Singapore’s Terence Khoo was also re-elected for a second term as Vice President.
