Colombo, Sri Lanka, November 7, 2024: The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka conducted an Olympic Values Education Programme for physical education teachers under training at the Teachers Training College last month.
A total of 35 physical education trainee teachers participated in the programme held at the Uva National College of Education in Bandarawela, 190 kilometres from the capital Colombo.
The two-day course was aimed at empowering physical education teachers with essential knowledge of Olympism and the management and administration of sports and physical education.
The course was conducted by Prof. B.L.H. Perera, Academic Director, NOC Sri Lanka and the curriculum covered an extensive area, including topics like the history of the Olympics, the future of the Olympic Movement, Olympic Values, managing environment and the management of resources, activities and sports sciences.
