Astana, Kazakhstan, November 6, 2024: The Kazakhstan Boxing Federation has officially become a full member of World Boxing, reported the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
The announcement was made during the World Boxing Congress in Colorado Springs, USA. The Congress addressed amendments to the World Boxing Charter, which were approved by the International Olympic Committee.
Currently, 55 countries have joined World Boxing.
Kazakhstan NOC President Gennadiy Golovkin, who addressed delegates at the Congress, highlighted the achievements of the World Boxing Olympic Commission, which he chairs.
During the Congress, Kazakhstan Boxing Federation submitted a bid to host the 2027 World Boxing Championships as a qualifier for the LA28 Olympics.
World Boxing was established in April 2023.
