Tehran, Iran, November 5, 2024: Iran NOC President Mahmoud Khosravi Vafa and Secretary General Seyed Manaf Hashemi met with the President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohammad Jalool, last week.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 27th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Cascais, Portugal.
IWF President Mohammad Jalool acknowledged Iran’s high standing in the sport on the Asian and international stage and emphasised the world governing body would continue to support Iranian weightlifting.
Jalool also disclosed the IWF would donate weightlifting equipment to the Iranian Weightlifting Federation to promote the sport in the country.
NOC President Khosravi Vafa thanked the IWF for its support to Iran and officially invited the IWF President to visit the country.
