Kazakhstan’s Gennadiy Golovkin assures young boxers of Olympic future

Astana, Kazakhstan, October 31, 2024: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Gennadiy Golovkin, has promised young athletes at the U19 World Boxing Championship in Pueblo, USA, that he will do everything within his power to keep boxing as an Olympic sport.

 

After posing for photographs with the participants at the U19 World Championship, Golovkin, who is also the Chair of the World Boxing Olympic Commission, emphasised his commitment to keep boxing in the LA28 Olympic Games, calling it his priority.

 

“Among you are future champions and Olympians who will compete in the Los Angeles Olympics. I promise to do everything in my power to keep boxing in the Olympics. Strive for greatness and give everything to achieve your goals,” Golovkin told his young audience.

 

The World Boxing U19 Championship has attracted 180 boxers from 30 countries.
