Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 28, 2024: The 38th edition of the International Conference of Sports Medicine drew to a successful conclusion at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Sunday, October 27.
The four-day conference, which was organised by the United Arab Emirates National Olympic Committee, brought together delegations from 118 associations and National Olympic Committees under the umbrella of the International Federation of Sports Medicine.
UAE NOC President HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum noted the country was always looking to strengthen its capabilities and contribute to the advancement of global sports. He said: “The Emirates is an active partner for the world in creating a better future that improves human life.”
The conference attracted the elite specialists on sports medicine from more than 70 countries, and over 300 research papers were presented at diverse workshops over the three days.
Delegates were also taken on a tour of medical facilities in the UAE and witnessed the latest technologies being used in athlete care and rehabilitation.
The conference highlighted the UAE’s pioneering position as a global destination for hosting and organising scientific and specialised conferences and sports events.
Among the many dignitaries who attended the conference was HH Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
