Bahrain NOC to hold first International Conference on Physical Literacy

Manama, Bahrain, October 28, 2024: The Bahrain Olympic Committee under the auspices and generous sponsorship of its President, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will hold the first International Conference on Physical Literacy from December 1-3.

 

The BOC will organise the conference in collaboration with the University of Bahrain and the International Organisation for Physical Literacy.

 

BOC Secretary General Faris Mustafa Al-Kooheji expressed his appreciation to Sheikh Khalid for approving the sponsorship of the conference and lauded the BOC President’s continuous effort to support the sports movement and hosting scientific conferences in the Kingdom.

 

This conference is part of the efforts by the Olympic Academy of the BOC to develop essential skills for physical education teachers and coaches in the Kingdom and the Middle East region.

 

Her Excellency Sheikha Dr. Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, a member of the BOC Board of Directors and Chair of the Gender Equal Opportunities Committee, stated the conference is a pioneering step towards promoting the importance of physical fitness and health, and its vital role in improving the quality of life.

 

Dr. Hessa said: “This conference presents a valuable opportunity to bring together experts and decision-makers from various countries of the world to discuss ways to promote physical and health awareness, which aligns the Kingdom’s vision to promote public health.”

 

She added: “This event will encourage younger generations to adopt healthy lifestyles and empower individuals to enjoy active and sustainable lives.”
