Doha, Qatar, October 27, 2024: The Qatar Olympic Committee has congratulated Ali Al-Hitmi on his re-election as First Vice President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG).
Ali Al-Hitmi was re-elected at the 85th FIG Congress held in Doha from October 24-26. It was attended by more than 500 representatives from 150 national gymnastics federations from all over the world.
“Congratulations to Mr. Ali Al-Hitmi on his re-election as First Vice President of the International Gymnastics Federation at the 85th FIG Congress in Doha. Another proud achievement for Qatari sport on the global stage,” the Qatar Olympic Committee said in a statement.
Japan’s Morinari Watanabe was also re-elected President of FIG at the Congress.
Apart from electing an executive committee, the Congress also discussed a number of topics related to shaping the future of gymnastics.
