Singapore’s Olympic bronze medalist receives cash award

Singapore, October 25, 2024: Maximilian Maeder, Singapore’s first Olympic sailing medallist, was recognised at the SNOC MAP Awards and Appreciation Dinner on Wednesday, October 23. 

 

The event was organised by the Singapore National Olympic Council and Major Games Award Programme (MAP).

 

Max, who won bronze in men’s kitefoil at Paris 2024, was awarded a $250,000 cash prize, presented by Ms Tan Su-Yin, Senior Director (Grants) from Tote Board.

 

Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations and President of the Singapore National Olympic Council, and Mr Edwin Tong, Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, were also in attendance.

 

The event also acknowledged and recognised the 23-strong contingent who represented Team Singapore and all those who were involved in making Singapore’s Paris 2024 Olympic Games campaign a success.

 

“A big thank you to Tote Board for supporting our athletes and helping enable the future of Singapore sports,” SNOC said.
