Lausanne, Switzerland, October 23, 2024: The International Testing Agency has announced that Malaysian squash legend Nicol David has become the new ITA Education Ambassador.
“Nicol is regarded as the greatest squash player of all time, winning multiple international medals and holding the world number 1 position for 108 consecutive months,” the ITA said in a social media post.
“We are thrilled to have Nicol join our team of enthusiastic education ambassadors. She will serve as a role model for young athletes and promote the values of clean sport.”
The ITA, whose motto is Keeping Sport Real, specializes in managing independent anti-doping programmes for federations, events and organisations requesting support.
The retired squash ace said that representing Malaysia for over 20 years was “an incredible experience” and that it was also a big responsibility to serve as a role model for young athletes in Malaysia and around the world “promoting the values of clean sport and the importance of fair play”.
She added: “I hope to be a positive influence for more athletes by advocating for clean sport to current and aspiring athletes of the future.”
Nicol was Deputy Chef de Mission of Team Malaysia at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
