Qatar Olympic Committee holds AI workshop

Doha, Qatar, October 21, 2024: The Qatar Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), organised a one-day training workshop titled "Artificial Intelligence and Enhancing Efficiency and Innovation" last week.

More than 80 participants from various departments of the QOC, along with employees of national sports federations, took part in the workshop.

Dr. Ayman Al-Khalifa, a trainer and technical supervisor at MCIT, conducted the workshop. He explained the concept of artificial intelligence, its stages of development, types, technologies, applications, and its pros and cons at both the personal and institutional levels. He also held a series of practical exercises for the participants.

Dr. Ayman stressed that artificial intelligence involves tools and programmes capable of simulating human cognition in performing tasks and responsibilities, highlighting its potential to boost employee productivity.

The workshop aligns with the NOC’s strategic goal of creating an ideal environment to attract, develop and retain the best talent and expertise, and aims to develop the NOC employee by engaging them in various training programmes.
