Shanghai, China, October 20, 2024: The Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia and President of World Aquatics, Husain Al Musallam, met with the President of the Chinese Olympic Committee, Gao Zhidan, in Shanghai on Saturday, October 19.
Gao, who is also Director of the State General Administration of Sport in China (GASC), and Captain Husain discussed the development of Chinese swimming and cooperation between China and World Aquatics. They also exchanged views on topics of mutual interest such as the Olympic movement in Asia.
Zhou Jihong, Director of the Swimming Center of the State Sports General Administration and President of the Chinese Swimming Association, and Song Xueying, Deputy Director of External Relations at GASC and Deputy Secretary General of the Chinese Olympic Committee, also attended the meeting.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup short-course meet which concluded Sunday.
