Singapore celebrates Olympic and Paralympic success at Paris 2024

Singapore, October 20, 2024: The Singapore National Olympic Council has thanked the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth for moving a motion in Parliament to honour their Paris 2024 Olympians and Paralympians.

 

“We appreciate the recognition of the hard work and achievements of Team Singapore, as well as Singapore’s commitment to investing in the long-term success of Singapore sports,” the SNOC said.

 

“We look forward to working closely with all stakeholders to keep this momentum going, ensuring that we strengthen the Olympic Movement in Singapore and continue to support our athletes in their journey to sporting excellence.”

 

The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth announced a six-point parliamentary motion to support the Olympic sports movement in Singapore:

*Expanding opportunities to all

*Building a high-performance sports system

*Building capabilities of the team behind the team

*Making Singapore a hub for world-class sporting events

*An inclusive sports system through the disability sports masterplan

*Strengthening the administration of sport

 

Singapore was represented by 33 athletes at the Paris Olympics and Paralympics, winning two gold medals, one silver and one bronze, with two national records and two personal bests.
